Creative Music Services continues to expand consulting, education, record label,
Songwriting, product, music and production areas.
It has been a busy quarter for Eric Chun, president of Creative Music Services.
Eric has been elected board member and secretary of the San Francisco Chapter of
The Recording Academy. In addition he also co-chairs the membership committee with Shiloh Hobel, and sits on the P and E Wing Committee. Eric also has accepted specialty marketing board director for West Coast Songwriters, and is on the advisory committee for California Lawyers for the Arts Sacramento Chapter. He finally has instituted the Audio Engineering Society
Professional Sacramento Valley section and is finishing interim chair duties as the new section begins its inaugural beginnings.
NFE Records and N Focus Entertainment continue to expand with breaking touring schedules for NFE recording acts Rayzing Sons and pop sensation Taja. Rayzing Sons continues its summer touring in Canada, West Coast and the Northern USA states, Taja continues touring in the western United States with an album release scheduled this quarter. NFE artist Steely also awaits her album release and touring schedule. Eric has also accepted the secretary position with NFE Records and board member position. Production facility, offices, studios, and sound stage for music, rehearsal, and film use. The corporation is headed by long time industry exec and drumming artist, Mark Hill.
Creative Music Services studios have been busy with recordings this summer with Sacramento sensation Death N Revenge's “acoustic” versions of their music, The Auburn Drumline CD 2,
8 year-old percussionist Kyron Kirby, mastering with rap producer King Con, film projects with Marcus Barone, Jim Miller, and Writers Addiction Coalition Song catalog. The state of the art facility also hosts the “ CMS Master Class Series”, foley, voice over, and industry consultation.
CMS also hosts the Writers Addiction Coalition, a consortium of independent lyricists and composers, collaborating, collecting, and organizing catalog music for publishing, film, and independent licensing. The group also performs their material. The writers interface with industry publishers, film and video business, game music, and labels. Talent comes from as far away as Redding, Davis, Sacramento, and Auburn. The group has already released a benefit album for
Joel Teixeira of Auburn, California. Performances have been at performing venues, restaurants, and business sites. The Coalition represents all genres of music.
CMS News Briefs:
Fellow songwriters Kathie Rollins and Kilee Cooper are the new directors for the Sacramento Chapter of West Coast Songwriters. Both vocalists and writers also coordinate the Writers Addiction Coalition meetings and performances.
CMS welcomes fellow percussionist Ryan Goodpastor. Ryan has had a busy summer recording, performing, mixing CMS projects, and engineering sound for the Auburn Summer Series. Ryan and Eric Chun are also beginning the CMS World Percussion Library for film and TV licensing.
Jessica Lehr continues a busy schedule in Los Angeles after seasons in production with Bernie Mac show, Revolution Studios, and now with Digital Kitchen in Culver City.
Eric Chun has been on a judging blitz with the Colgate Country Showdown, Disc Makers Billboard Indy Bands West Coast Finals, and West Coast Songwriter playoff and open mic
Competition series.
The San Francisco chapter of The Recording Academy contnues its
Summer activities with “ The Life of a Song” series and Grammy in the Streets. The chapter also busies itself with the new growth of Grammy U, the newest membership for college and university students.
West Coast Songwriters prepares for the Palo Alto Music and Arts Festival July 20, and the Yearly conference in September. The organization features new memberships for bands and students. New member areas now include San Diego, Los Angeles, Portland, Sacramento, & Seattle.
The Sacramento Valley Professional AES section begins a busy year, also working with the newly expanding student section American River AES. The student section continues to grow with student reps and activities at other campuses.
Eight year-old percussionist Kyron Kirby continues to work with CMS and Eric Chun releasing and recording material for label consideration, TV licensing, and endorsements. Kyron is managed by his father, well known drummer Flip Kirby, and founder of M.I.N.K.H., a dedicated music school, and provider of music instruments in Sacramento.
Marc Cooper, master guitarist, producer, writer, clinician, and studio owner continues his clinic tours, concerts, and recording across the world. “Coop” readies for a jazz album, collaboration with CMS, and tracking at his state of the art facility. Fellow clients and artists, Joey Curtain and Patrick Curtain, continue to perform and track release of their newest album. Joey continues a voice over project with her daughter for an upcoming childrens story.
American River College, Sacramento, readies for the Fall Semester with their new state of the art music and theatre building nearing completion. The facility holds a state of the art performance theatre and music hall, renovated band and choir rooms, storage, practice rooms and the new Studio A for
Recording audio and music. Eric Chun, founder of the commercial music program and degree, and Dr. Merlyn Van Regenmorter head one of the top music industry education areas in the country.
Califorinia Lawyers for the Arts, Sacramento chaper, hosts their August Art and Music Evening August 24 at the
Solomon Dubnick Art Gallery in Sacramento from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. featuring live jazz music,
Silent auction, and art exhibits.
CMS hosted the Auburn Chamber of Commerce member mixer in March. The event
Included a full course dinner, valet parking, surround theatre demos, recording sessions,
Live performances with Marc Cooper, Jerry Chucalate, Matthew Chun, and Mariann Smith.
Over 80 business attended the packed event.
